3000 series stainless steels are classified as austenitic with approximately 18% to 30% chromium and 6% to 20% nickel as their major alloying additions. These grades of stainless steels are easily welded and machined but hardened only by cold working methods. 300 series stainless steel has good corrosion resistance while maintaining their strength at high temperatures. These advanced characteristics provide an abundance of industrial uses and applications for these versatile fasteners.300 series stainless encompasses many different alloys: 301, 302, 304, 316, 317, 321, 330, 347 and more. While grade 304 and 316 is the most widely used alloy of all stainless steels.

Applications of 300 series Stainless Steel
300 series stainless steels are regularly utilized in a wide range of industries where superior corrosion resistance and high weldability is a necessity. Stainless steel alloys are used predominantly in:
- Food processing equipment, particularly in milk processing, beer brewing, and winemaking.
- Kitchen benches, sinks, equipment, and appliances.
- Architectural trim and molding.
- Automotive and aerospace structural use.
- Construction material in large buildings.
- Chemical containers, including for transport.
- Heat exchangers.
- Nuts, bolts, screws, and other specialty fasteners that are used in the marine environment.
- Woven or welded screens for mining, quarrying and water filtration equipment.
